This weekend we close out our 2020 season with our annual Fall 50. All of our divisions will be racing in special events. The Late Models are racing for $5,000 to win. The American Modified Series returns to Florence Speedway Saturday to compete in a $2,000 to win event. The crates will be racing for $1,500 to win. Also, our G&G Express Sport Mods and Hornets will be racing for $1,000 to win each.
Due to an expected large car count, there will be a couple changes to our normal operating procedures for this event.
- Everything will be on an early schedule. Pit gates open at 12 pm and hot laps start at 4 pm. We recommend drivers get there early as the lines at the gates and registration are expected to be long.
- With pit capacity possibly being an issue, our current plan is to park all Hornets in the infield if possible. This will only be for ones with open trailers and small enclosed trailers. We are working on a complete parking plan and will be directing haulers for all divisions where to park as they come in. If you need/want to park next to someone specific, it is recommended you arrive at the track with them. There are no guarantees that you will be able to save spots. This goes for all divisions.
- All drivers will have to have a registration form on file. If you have not filled one out this season, it is recommended you fill it out in advance and bring it with you. You can fill one out at the track, but you will not be able to draw, nor will you get paid until we have a complete form filled out. Save yourself time by filing it out and bring it with you. You can download a copy here: https://www.florencespeedway.com/wp-content/uploads/RegistrationForm.pdf
- There is one other change for this weekend. In an effort to address some of the issues the Sport Mod Division has been having, we will be allowing those cars to add one 5โณ spoiler. This is a test to see how the cars perform with them to see if we want to make that a permanent addition for 2021.
