As we rapidly approach the 2025 racing season, Florence Speedway officials would like to update our fans and drivers on some things going on this offseason.
2025 Schedule now available
First and foremost, the 2025 schedule has now been posted to florencespeedway.com. The schedule is a mix of old favorites mixed with some new events, topped off, as always, with the Sunoco Race Fuels North/South 100 presented by Lucas Oil. Our marquis event is August 7-9 and will, once again, pay $75,000 to win and $3,500 to start. The Ralph Latham Memorial returns to Florence Speedway May 3rd with a significant purse increase as the race will now pay $25,000 to win! Also, for the Super Late Models, a new event as the Hunt the Front Super Dirt series makes their Florence Speedway debut June 28th as they co-sanction a $20,000 to win event with the Northern Allstar late model series. The Northern Allstars make two other appearances at the speedway this season as they sanction our traditional season opening Spring 50 on March 15th, then return again for a $5,000 to win show on April 12th.
The world of sprint car racing will turn it’s eyes to Florence Speedway on July 11th and 12th as the Kubota High Limit Racing Sprints make their first appearance here for the Kentucky Sprint Nationals. This will be a two-day event with a complete show Friday paying $10,000 to win, and then the stars of the High Limit series battle it out in the $20,000 to win KSN finale on Saturday. That weekend is part of six sprint car events at the speedway in 2025.
We also have a full schedule of events throughout the season with our weekly divisions of Modifieds, Pro Late Models, G&G Express Sport Mods, Hornets, and Crown Vics plus rotating guest appearances of Legends, Steel Block Late Models, Pro Stocks, and Demo Derbies.

We are happy to announce that the Hilton Cincinnati Airport has returned as our official host hotel for 2025.

The hotel also offers a reduced rate for anyone visiting Florence Speedway. The Hilton Cincinnati Airport, is conveniently located at the Turfway Road exit off of I-75/71 near multiple restaurants, shopping venues, casinos, and is only a short drive to the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport (CVG).

Purse increases for weekly shows
Florence Speedway is pleased to announce that we will be increasing purses for all of our weekly divisions in 2025. Each division is getting a minimum of a 30% increase in start money, and more than a 20% increase in total purse. Modifieds will now pay $1,000 to win, $150 to start, Pro Late Models will now pay $1,000 to win, $150 to start, G&G Express Sport Mods will now pay $600 to win, $100 to start, Hornets will now pay $300 to win, $75 to start, and Crown Vics will now pay $200 to win, $50 to start. You can see complete weekly purses in the Drivers tab on our website.
Plus, in our Crown Vic division, after seeing growth in the division over the last two years, and listening to feedback from drivers, on nights when we get 30 cars or more, instead of a consolation race to fill the field, we will spilt the field in half after the heats. The top half of the field will run the regular, $200 to win A Feature. The bottom half of the field will run a separate $75 to win B Feature at the end of the night. This should give cars an opportunity to run more quality laps with similar competition. This will only be on our regular, weekly shows. On increased purse nights, we will run our traditional lineup format and not run a separate B feature.
Format update for weekly shows
In an effort to increase competition and the quality of racing in our weekly shows, we are making a tweak to our racing format. In 2024 we added Hot Lap Qualifying to all of our divisions. That was largely successful, but did lead to a decrease in quality of our heat races. In an attempt to improve that, we will be adding an invert to our heat races. We will now invert the first 4 cars in each heat race. This should lead to better racing in our heats and features without going to the more drastic step of pill draw lineups for heats.
Crate Late Models rebranded as Pro Late Models
In an effort to match what other tracks in the region are doing, the Crate Late Model division will be undergoing a name change as they will now be known as Pro Late Models. This naming is used by many other tracks running the division and we feel this will help with any confusion about which division we are running.
Demo Derbies back on the schedule for 2025
Returning in 2025 will be our fan favorite demo derbies. We have derbies scheduled throughout the season. Rules packages have not been decided, and that’s where we are seeking help. We are looking for experienced derbiers from this area who’d be interested in building cars. We’d like to see what rules drivers would like to see for us to maximize car counts. Interested parties should contact Josh King at jking@florencespeedway.com or message the Florence Speedway Facebook page.
