After being delayed a week by Mother Nature, the action-packed 2022 season at Florence Speedway is set to kick off this Saturday, April 2nd.
On Saturday, the on-track action will be highlighted by a $5,000-to-win program for Late Models. The Modifieds, G&G Express Sport Mods, and Hornets will also be in competition. Saturday, April 2nd will mark the start of the 2022 track points for those divisions.(Note: With Late Models not being a full time division in 2022, points will only be tracked for provisional purposes.) There will be no entry fee for any division on Saturday, April 2nd.
A full program is on tap for the Late Model division, which will include Qualifying, Heat Races, B-Mains, and the $5,000-to-win Feature. The Modifieds, G&G Express Sport Mods, and Hornets will compete in a weekly racing program of Heat Races, B-Mains, and a Feature.
A bonus will be award to the Top-3 finishers of the Late Model feature who are utilizing a steel block engine. The Top-3 Steel Block Late Models in Saturday nightโs Late Model feature will receive $250, $150, and $100 respectively. Steel Block Late Models must declare at time of pill draw to be eligible for bonus money.
On Saturday, April 2nd the Pit Gates open at 1:00pm, followed by Main and Back Gates opening at 3:30pm. Hot Laps are set to begin at 4:00pm followed immediately by qualifying and racing action.
Ticket prices in the General Admission area will be $22 for adults (18+) while ages 13-17 will be $15. Children ages 12 and under are admitted for free to the General Admission area. A pit pass is $40.
