Fall 50 weeeknd is only two weeks away! New format announced!
We are only two weeks away from the last race of the 2015 season as our annual Fall 50 weekend lands on October 23rd and 24th. Recently, Florence Speedway management announced a new format for this year’s Fall 50 weekend. Saturday’s format will remain unchanged with the Late Models racing for a $5,000 top prize, and the American Modified Series hosting their season championship race with a $5,000 to win race as well. The Friday night portion of the event is where the changes occur. Previously, it was announced that the Late Models would be racing for $2,000 to win and the Time Auto Sales Modifieds would be in action in a $1,000 to win event. We are upping the ante, as, now, the Crates will be in action in a $500 to win event, and, the Modifieds will now be racing for $1,500 to win in an AMS sanctioned event! This event is shaping up to be one of the biggest of the season as over $50,000 in purse money will be up for grabs over the two days.If you are coming form out of town, and need rooms for the event, our Host Hotel is the Hilton Cincinnati Airport in Florence. Increased purse for 2016 Sunoco North/South 100
Florence Speedway is excited to announce that the 2016 Sunoco North/South 100 presented by Lucas Oil will be receiving a purse increase that will make it one of the highest paying races in the sport. After increasing the purse to pay $50,000 to win in 2003, the race has seen tremendous growth over the last decade. In 2014, with a change to the popular passing points format, the race received an increase of over $12,000 in the form of a non-qualifiers race for those not fortunate enough to make the 100 lap feature. And after seeing growth in attandance in 2015 due to the new format and the exciting racing it produces, we are increasing the purse again. On August 11-13, 2016, the North/South 100 will again, pay $50,000 to win, but the race will now pay $3,000 to start! This is the highest paying start money of any race in the sport, and is sure to draw the attention of all of the top drivers. Tickets for the event will go on sale to the public in January. We are also pleased to announce that the Hilton Cincinnati Airport will, once again, be the host hotel for the event. In 2015, rooms for the event sold out, so you wil want to book your room as soon as possible to be sure you don’t miss out. The hotel has a special $85 a night rate set up for the event. Looking for tech help for 2016
Florence Speedway is currently looking for tech inspectors for the 2016 season. We and needing inspectors in any or all divisions. While tech experience is not essential, a good working knowledge of the cars you will be inspecting will be required. Interested persons should contact Josh King at firstname.lastname@example.org with your background in racing and any experience you have in tech or working on cars.
Transponders now mandatory
Florence Speedway has recently installed a transponder scoring system at the track. Transponders are devices attached to the cars that allow for electronic scoring of the races. This allows for quicker turnarounds in cautions and more accurate scoring of the races. Transponders are already in use at many tracks and by many series across the country and are becoming the standard method of scoring in auto racing. We have transponders available for rent or for sale at the track at our new registration building. Transponders are now mandatory in all divisions.

We and Sunoco Race Fuels have teamed up for a program to reward drivers who race here weekly. The Sunoco Race Fuels Heat Race Challenge will reward drivers who run well in their heat races and run Sunoco Race Fuel products. That’s right, the Late Models, Time Auto Sales Modifieds, Crates and Pure Stocks are all competing for the same prize.
