Fan Appreciation Night this weekend! |
This weekend, at Florence Speedway, is one of our most popular nights of the year, as we celebrate Fan Appreciation Night! Saturday July 18th is definitely a night you don’t want to miss as the speedway and the drivers take a night to give back to the fans. On top of our full program of Late Models, Time Auto Sales Modifieds, Crates, Pure Stocks, and Hornets, we will be hosting our popular fan night intermission activities. At intermission, we bring the drivers and their cars to the infield and then we open the gates to allow the fans down to meet the drivers, get autographs, and see the cars up close. It has become, not only a fan favorite, but a favorite of the drivers as well. To top it off, you get all of that for a season low admission price of just $10! Don’t forget, due to the extended intermission, start times are moved up 30 minutes with Hot Laps starting at 5:30 and Racing starting at 6:30. So bring the family and your friends out this weekend to Florence Speedway! |

Job opening available |
Florence Speedway is currently looking for someone to join our staff in the role of tech inspector. Applicants need to have experience dealing with late models and/or modifieds and should have a good working knowledge of the cars. This includes, but is not limited to tires, shocks, and bodies. The position will primarily involve inspecting the cars and their components, but will include some paperwork as well. This person should be able to step in on day one and be able to do basic checks on the cars. While some training will be provided, this is not a learning position. Interested persons should contact Josh King at jking@florencespeedway.com |
Transponders now mandatory |
Florence Speedway has recently installed a transponder scoring system at the track. Transponders are devices attached to the cars that allow for electronic scoring of the races. This allows for quicker turnarounds in cautions and more accurate scoring of the races. Transponders are already in use at many tracks and by many series across the country and are becoming the standard method of scoring in auto racing. We have transponders available for rent or for sale at the track at our new registration building. Transponders are now mandatory in all divisions. |

Sunoco Race Fuels Heat Race Challenge
|
We at Florence Speedway are excited to announce that the Sunoco Race Fuels Heat Race challenge is returning for the 2015 season. We and Sunoco Race Fuels have teamed up for a program to reward drivers who race here weekly. The Sunoco Race Fuels Heat Race Challenge will reward drivers who run well in their heat races and run Sunoco Race Fuel products. The twist to this program is that where, in most cases, drivers in different divisions can’t compete against each other, in the Sunoco Race Fuels Heat Race Challenge, the eligible drivers will be competing against each other! That’s right, the Late Models, Time Auto Sales Modifieds, Crates and Pure Stocks are all competing for the same prize. At the end of the season, the top point earner will gain a $500 prize from Sunoco, and everyone in the top 10 will receive cash awards. For more details check out the program info page on our website. We would also like to let everyone know that, due to many requests, we will be switching to selling Sunoco Supreme 112 octane gasoline at the track on a weekly basis. We will no longer be carrying the 110 octane standard fuel. In addition to gasoline, we will also continue to sell Methanol at the track. For the crate division, we will be carrying the Sunoco 260 GT Plus 104 Octane Unleaded Fuel. This is a race ready fuel that is geared towards the needs of crate engines. We also have access to drums of the Sunoco HCR Plus 114 Octane racing gas. If anyone is interested in purchasing a drum, just ask at our fuel sales area.Purchase of any of the above qualifies you for the Sunoco Heat Race challenge bonuses. |
2015 Sponsorship Opportunities Available |
We are currently looking for companies who are interested in advertising with us for the 2015 season. We can do packages that incorporate signage, billboards, website advertising, mailer advertising, company outings at the track, company titled race nights, division sponsorships, T-shirt and other giveaways, or we can customize sponsorship ideas to fit your needs. We can work with sponsors with most any budget from companies who only want to spend a few hundred dollars up to corporations with advertising budgets in the thousands.
