Florence Speedway is currently looking to fill a couple new positions at the track on race days.
1. We are looking for someone to work at the turn 3 track crossover, outside the track between the infield and pit area. This position involves controlling the flow of cars, people, and other vehicles across the racetrack. Person’s applying for this position should be able to be somewhat physically fit as they will be on their feet for hours at a time and may need to move quickly depending on circumstances. Applicants should be familiar with racing and have a good knowledge of how our events run. They should be comfortable dealing with people and be able to control small crowds with confidence. The location that this position covers does receive large amounts of dirt flying, so applicants must be prepared to deal with that. Applicants should be able to commit to all races on the schedule. Limited absences may be ok, but that should be discussed at the time of application. Pay may vary based on qualifications and experience of the applicant. Interested parties should contact Josh King at jking@florencespeedway.com or message our Facebook page. Please give a quick background of yourself and your experience with racing. If you have anything you think would affect your ability to do the job, either positively or negatively, you should tell us at that time.
2. We are looking for 1 or 2 bartenders for a new bar area being built at the race track. Applicants must be an experienced bartender and have a good working knowledge of the most popular drinks that customers are likely to order. This is not a training position. Having a current alcohol awareness training certificate is preferred. Formal training and experience with new bar set ups is a plus as this is a brand new endeavor. Plans are for bartenders to be on site Saturdays from approximately 30 minutes prior to gates opening till the end of the racing program. Typically this means 5pm to 12 midnight. Certain events will call for different or longer hours and other days of the week. Applicants should be able to start May 5th and be able to work all, or at least most, dates on our schedule. We may also need bartenders to fill in from time to time or rotate shifts on certain events. Those who are interested, but cannot commit to the full schedule can still apply. Just let us know which dates you can, and cannot commit to. Our schedule is available at florencespeedway.com. Experience with racing is not required. The bartender’s duties will include setting up their station prior to the start of the event, making and selling drinks and collecting cash payments for them, some light stocking of their station may be required throughout the shift, cleaning up their station and bar area at the end of the night, and doing inventory prior to leaving. Interested parties should contact Josh King at jking@florencespeedway.com or message our Facebook page. Pay may vary based on qualifications and experience of the applicant. Please give a quick background of yourself and a listing of your bartending experience including training and real world bartending experience. If you have anything you think would affect your ability to do the job, either positively or negatively, you should tell us at that time.
